Bringing Your Vision to Life, One Plan at a Time

When you’re building a home, your plans are the roadmap. They’re the bridge between the picture in your head and the lumber on the jobsite. At B & G Drafting, we take that responsibility seriously.

For us, a “residential plan” isn’t just a stack of technical drawings—it’s the blueprint for how you’ll live, work, and relax for years to come. We design for the way you want to live, while making sure every detail is clear enough for your builder to follow without hesitation.

What’s Included in Our Residential Plans

Every residential plan we create is custom, whether you’re starting from a napkin sketch or a solid list of must-haves. When you approve your final design, you’ll receive:

6 Full Sets of Printed Plans

Complete with elevations, floor plans, roof plan, and foundation plan.

Electrical Layout

Showing outlets, switches, and fixtures so there’s no guessing during construction.

Permit Sets

For counties and cities that require them (or just for your records if they don’t).

PDF Copies

Digital files you can share with contractors, subcontractors, or keep on hand for future reference.
Our plans are code-compliant and drawn to scale, making them ready to hand to a general contractor or submit to your local building department.

Tailored to Your Home, Not Someone Else’s

We don’t pull from a stock library and “tweak” the details. Every plan we create is designed specifically for your project, your lot, and your style. We work with single-family homes and duplexes of all sizes—from compact cottages to sprawling family homes.

The process starts with you bringing in ideas—sketches, magazine pages, Pinterest boards, or photos of other homes you like. We take those and develop a preliminary plan that captures your vision. From there, we work with you on any changes until you’re ready for finals.

Built-In Practicality and Efficiency

We design with buildability in mind. Our layouts account for real-world construction practices, and we include energy-conscious details as part of our standard process—not as an add-on.

We’re equally attentive to cost. If a design element will require specialized labor or materials that might push your project out of budget, we’ll flag it early and discuss alternatives that achieve the same look or function.

Protecting Your Design Investment

Every plan we produce is copyrighted, which means no one else can build your exact home without permission—not even in the same neighborhood. That protects your investment and ensures your home stays uniquely yours.

We also maintain a professional respect for our contractor clients. If we design a home for a builder who plans to construct it multiple times, that plan remains theirs to use, but not for anyone else to copy.

Our Process in Brief

Designing a home is a big deal, but our process is structured to give you confidence at every stage from the first conversation to the day your final plans are ready.
We sit down with you, review your ideas, and take detailed notes.
Within about a week, you’ll get your first draft showing room layouts, sizes, and an exterior elevation.
You mark up changes, and we adjust until you’re confident in the design.
Delivered in about five weeks, complete and ready for permits or construction bids.
